Capri is the pearl of the Mediterranean sea, so called the blue island for the color of its water, but especially for the colour of its well known grotto, discovered in the 1826, when it was visitated by the german artist August Kopisch. The island had its peak of reputation in the '50, the so called "la bella vita", when it was visited by artists, phylosophers and intelletuals of international fame such as Curzio Malaparte, Edwin Cerio, Vladimir Lenin, Amedeo Modigliani and many others. During that period was born the "caprese Style", launched into the mondial scene by the famous visitors and identified by the well known "SANDALO CAPRESE", and the white linen trouser.
In Capri is also possible to visit the ruins of the roman villas of th emperor Tiberio, collocated at the two poles of the island, one in Capri (Villa Jovis) and the other in Anacapri (Villa Damecuta). With a boat tour is possible to admire the natural beauty of th eFaraglioni, the natural arch and the blue grotto, that make Capri one of the wonders of the world.
The most suggestive view is from Monte Solaro, the highest point, where you can see the whole town of Capri, the gulf of Neaples and the islands of Ischia and Procida.
